La tercera edición del Barcelona Spain Masters ya tiene sus finalistas. Durante la jornada de hoy, se han vivido partidos de máxima tensión en el CEM Olímpics Vall d’Hebrón protagonizados por el más alto nivel de jugadores. El espectáculo estaba asegurado desde primera hora de la mañana en la jornada de semifinales que ha contado con la presencia de un público entregado.
La local Carolina Marín [1] se planta en la final del Barcelona Spain Masters 2020 tras batir a la tailandesa Supanida Katethong (Tailandia) por un doble 21-16. La última vez que Marín se enfrentó a Katethong fue en el Vietnam Open en el que fue su retorno a la alta competición después de su lesión de rodilla (en esa ocasión, la victoria cayó del lado de la jugadora tailandesa). Con todo el apoyo de sus fans en la grada, Marín era la primera finalista en la modalidad de individual femenino. Su rival en la final será Pornpawee Chochuwong [6] (Tailandia) que vencía a su compatriota Busanan Ongbamrungphan [3] a tres sets: 14-21, 21-15 y 21-12. A la finalización del partido, Carolina Marín animaba a "todos sus fans a venir al torneo y acompañarla en la final".
En el cuadro de individual masculino, Viktor Axelsen [1] (Dinamarca) cerraba su encuentro en dos sets ante el jugador malasio Liew Daren. Axelsen se batirá en la final con el tailandés Kunlavut Vitidsarn, que obtenía su victoria tras vencer al indio Ajay Jayaram. Ambos encuentros de individual masculino se han cerrado en dos sets.
En dobles femenino, las hermanas búlgaras Gabriela Stoeva - Stefani Stoeva [3] necesitaban de un tercer set para sentenciar el encuentro ante las tailandesas y número 2 de la competición Jongkolphan Kititharakul - Rawinda Prajongjai [2]: 21-14, 16-21 y 21-9. Por otra parte, y también en un encuentro a tres sets, las máximas favoritas Greysia Polii - Apriyani Rahayu [1] (Indonesia) vencían a las ingleses Chloe Birch - Lauren Smith [6]: 20-22, 21-16 y 21-10.
En la modalidad de dobles masculino se han clasificado para la final los daneses Kim Astrup - Anders Skaarup Rasmussen [4]. El dúo danés ha vencido a una de las parejas favoritas de la competición, Aaron Chia - Soh Wooi Yik [2] (Malasia) por dos sets a cero: 21-16 y 24-22 con un final trepidante. Por el otro lado del cuadro principal, duelo de compatriotas de China Taipéi que se resolvía con la victoria de Lee Yang - Wang Chi-Lin [1], vigentes campeones, ante Lu Ching Yao - Yang Po Han [7] en dos sets.
Por último, en dobles mixtos, los jóvenes franceses Thom Gicquel - Delphine Delrue [6] se han impuesto a Yang Po-Hsuan - Hu Ling Fang (China Taipéi). Gicquel – Delrue se enfrentaran en la final a Kim Sa Rang - Kim Ha Na (Corea) que en el día de hoy han sumado victoria ante los daneses Mathias Bay-Smidt - Rikke Søby en un ajustado encuentro: 14-21, 21-11 y 21-15.
Las finales del Barcelona Spain Masters se celebraran el domingo 23 a partir de las 10.00h. El orden de partidos será: dobles mixtos, dobles femenino, individual femenino, dobles masculino e individual masculino. Se hará la ceremonia de entrega de premios después de cada final.
Se prevé una elevada afluencia de público para las fases finales de la competición. Asimismo, se podrá seguir el acontecimiento desde España a través de las retransmisiones en directo de Esport3 (TV3), Teledeporte y LaLigaSports TV. El seguimiento de resultados de todos los partidos se puede realizar a través de Badminton World Federation.
La atmósfera del Barcelona Spain Masters: el Village
Durante el fin de semana, coincidiendo con las semifinales y finales del Barcelona Spain Masters, se ha instalado el Village del Campeonato en el exterior del CEM Olímpics Vall d’Hebrón.
Se prevé que más de 1500 personas se acerquen a esta zona, destinada a promocionar el bádminton a través de diferentes espacios y actividades. Orientado a todos los públicos, pequeños y grandes podrán disfrutar del ambiente de esta competición de nivel mundial.
Por primera vez en España, los aficionados y jugadores de bádminton han podido disfrutar del Air Shuttle; el volante que permite jugar a esta disciplina deportiva al aire libre y que permitirá la expansión de nuestro deporte a cualquien entorno.

World stars Carolina Marín and Viktor Axelsen will play the Barcelona Spain Masters 2020 final against Thais Chochuwong and Vitidsarn, respectively
The third edition of the Barcelona Spain Masters already has its finalists. During the day today, there have been maximum tension matches at the CEM Olímpics Vall d’Hebrón starring the highest level of players. The show was secured from the early hours of the morning on the semifinal day that has been attended by a public delivered.
The local Carolina Marín [1] is in the final of the Barcelona Spain Masters 2020 after beating the Thai Supanida Katethong (Thailand) by a double 21-16. The atmosphere of Barcelona Spain Masters: the Village
During the weekend, coinciding with the semifinals and finals of the Barcelona Spain Masters, the Village of the Championship was installed outside the CEM Olímpics Vall d’Hebrón.
It is expected that more than 1500 people approach this area, aimed at promoting badminton through different spaces and activities. Oriented to all audiences, young and old, you can enjoy the atmosphere of this world-class competition.
For the first time in Spain, badminton fans and players have been able to enjoy the Air Shuttle; the steering wheel allows us to play this sport discipline outdoors and that will allow the expansion of our sport to any environment.
