Durante la jornada de hoy se han vivido partidos de máxima tensión en el CEM Olímpics Vall d’Hebrón. El espectáculo estaba asegurado desde primera hora de la tarde en la jornada de cuartos de final.
Carolina Marín [1] sigue su camino en el Barcelona Spain Masters 2020 tras vencer a Phittayaporn Chaiwan (Tailandia), actual campeona del Iberdrola Internacional de Madrid 2019, en dos sets: 21-18 y 21-12. Lo ha hecho, una vez más, con el soporte de toda la afición que llena las gradas del CEM Olímpics. En la ronda de semifinales, Marín se batirá ante Supanida Katethong (Tailandia), quien previamente eliminó a la también española Clara Azurmendi. Marín se enfrentó a Katethong en el Vietnam Open en el que fue su retorno a la alta competición después de su lesión de rodilla. En esa ocasión, la victoria cayó del lado de la jugadora tailandesa.
Una de las mayores sorpresas del torneo, también en la modalidad del individual femenino, ha sido la victoria de Busanan Ongbamrungphan [3] (Tailandia) ante Saina Nehwal [5] (India). Ambas han demostrado su alto nivel de juego, pero finalmente la jugadora tailandesa ha zanjado el encuentro ante la estrella india en dos sets: 22-20 y 21-19.
En individual masculino, el primer cabeza de serie de la competición Viktor Axelsen (Dinamarca) es uno de los semifinalistas del torneo tras batir a su compatriota Jan O Jorgensen [7] (Dinamarca). Axelsen se enfrentará en semifinales a Liew Daren (Malasia), que en la jornada de hoy ha derrotado al danés Rasmus Gemke [5] a tres sets; 16-21, 21-17 y 21-17.
En la modalidad de dobles femenino, el dúo de China Taipéi Hsu Ya Ching - HU Ling Fang [8] forzaba el tercer set ante las favoritas Greysia POLII - Apriyani RAHAYU (Indonesia) [1] pero finalmente las jugadoras de indonesia lograban su victoria: 20-22 21-11 21-19.
En la modalidad de dobles masculino, las dos parejas favoritas al título del Barcelona Spain Masters siguen su camino. Los cabeza de serie número 1, Lee Yang - Wang Chi-Lin (China Taipéi) [1] derrotaban a sus compatriotas Liao Min Chun - Su Ching Heng [5]. Por el otro lado del cuadro principal, los malasios Aaron Chia - Soh Wooi Yik [2] sentenciaban en dos sets a los alemanes Mark Lamsfuss - Marvin Seidel [6].
Finalmente, uno de los partidos de la jornada que ha mantenido en vilo hasta el último momento al público, ha sido el dobles mixtos protagonizado por Thom Gicquel - Delphine Delrue (Francia) [6], que tras más de 1 hora de partido, han batido a los jugadores de China Taipéi Lee Jhe-Huei - Hsu Ya Ching: 17-21, 21-18 y 21-19. Los franceses se enfrentaran en la jornada de semifinales ante la pareja Yang Po-Hsuan - Hu Ling Fang (China Taipéi), quienes vencieron a uno de los dúos cabeza de la competición, los ingleses Marcus Ellis - Lauren Smith [4] por 21-17 y 22-20.
El Barcelona Spain Masters 2020 está llegando a su final. Las semifinales del torneo se celebraran mañana sábado 22 a partir de las 11.00h. Las esperadas finales se celebraran el domingo 23 a partir de las 10.00h. Es posible disfrutar del evento con entradas anticipadas y con asiento preferencial a través de El Corte Inglés. Se prevé una elevada afluencia de público para las fases finales de la competición. Asimismo, se podrá seguir el acontecimiento desde España a través de las retransmisiones en directo de Esport3 (TV3) y Teledeporte. El seguimiento de resultados de todos los partidos se puede realizar a través de Badminton World Federation.
El Barcelona Spain Masters se promociona en la ciudad
En el marco del Barcelona Spain Masters, se han habilitado diferentes espacios en la ciudad para promover la disciplina deportiva en la ciudad condal. Uno de ellos ha sido ubicado en el centro comercial de La Illa Diagonal. Desde el lunes hasta el domingo, coincidiendo con las fechas del torneo, se ha instalado una pista de bádminton para todas aquellas personas que quieran conocer o practicar este deporte.
Durante todos los días se han programado diferentes exhibiciones de los mejores jugadores provenientes de la Federación Catalana de Bádminton. Además de los partidos de exhibición, se han desarrollado diferentes actividades dirigidas a todos los públicos, y en las que se prevé gran afluencia sobre todo durante el fin de semana.
Esta promoción del torneo se ha llevado a cabo gracias a MGS Seguros, promotor de la actividad y con la colaboración de la Federación Española de Bádminton y la Federación Catalana de Bádminton.

The maximum expectation to conquer the semifinals of Barcelona Spain Masters 2020

The Barcelona Spain Masters is promoted in the city
Within the framework of the Barcelona Spain Masters, different spaces in the city have been enabled to promote sports discipline in the city. One of them has been located in the shopping center of La Illa Diagonal. From Monday to Sunday, coinciding with the dates of the tournament, a badminton court has been installed for all those who want to know or practice this sport.
Different exhibitions of the best players from the Catalan Badminton Federation have been scheduled every day. In addition to the exhibition matches, different activities aimed at all audiences have been developed, and in which there is a large influx especially during the weekend.
